Hello, my name is Hayley Laframboise, and I’m the owner of Dragonfly Reiki Healing Practice. I’m a qualified Usui Reiki Master Teacher, a Reiki Karuna Master, and a Sound & Vibrational Therapies Practitioner.
I was born and raised in the south of England and, even after being here for decades, I’ve retained my East London accent, (though, oddly enough, I’m often mistaken for being Australian) along with a Brit’s colorful command of the English language and irreverent sense of humour.
My Reiki Story
I discovered my passion for holistic healing in 2013, during a dark and difficult time that led me to seek an alternative path for my own emotional and spiritual wellness. At the same time, I was engaged in volunteer work with end-of-life patients for a national organization. As part of the volunteer training, I was invited to learn Heart Touch therapy, through the Heart Touch Project. This was such an amazing and invaluable life experience, and the knowledge and essence gained from that training still informs my life today.
It was during this training that I first encountered the concept of “Reiki”. After much research and dithering, I found a local practitioner and scheduled my first session: And I was utterly blown away by the depth of peace and healing I experienced! By the time I’d finished my third Reiki session as a client, I had become deeply fascinated with the profound healing and changes that, even up to just that point, I’d experienced. This then became a burning passion and I wanted to learn how to do this ancient art of energy healing for myself — and others.
Being neurodivergent and medicated for ADHD (so that I could function in an office environment), I often felt awkward, uncomfortable, and out of alignment. Yet, in a remarkably short period, giving and receiving Reiki began to feel like “home” to me. Instead of feeling awkward or anxious, whenever I was around Reiki I started to feel strong, confident, and capable—as if I truly knew what I was doing. It all made sense to me in a way nothing else ever had. Naturally, I wanted to pursue that feeling.
I immersed myself into the world of Reiki, dedicating myself to learning, studying, volunteering, and progressing through the certification levels to become a Master of both Usui and Karuna. Once I’d achieved this level of mastery, I knew that I was ready to unleash my awesomeness onto my unsuspecting community to do it professionally for a living.
With the support and guidance of my teacher and regular Reiki sessions, I eventually made the difficult decision to leave my job, come off medication, and search for a life that felt more aligned with my soul’s purpose.
“Maybe the journey isn’t about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so that you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” ~ Paulo Coelho
I won’t lie—it took some time. After pursuing multiple ideas that hit a dead-end and experiencing a great deal of frustration, a series of serendipitous stepping stones finally led me to opening Dragonfly Reiki Healing Practice in 2017.
I absolutely loved what I did and DRHP was steadily growing and becoming established. Then Covid hit, and unfortunately, my business couldn’t survive the stringent LA County pandemic lockdowns. Heartbroken, I left Los Angeles in 2021. I moved to San Diego for a couple of years, but it never felt right to reopen there. I had to turn inward again and search my heart and soul for what I wanted to do next and where to go.
That’s when I felt the tugging call of the high desert. I had been escaping to the high desert for years, usually staying in an isolated off-grid homestead somewhere with not a soul in sight. It had always been a safe place for me, a beautiful, peaceful, healing sanctuary that I would run to and disappear in, before returning to my life feeling strengthened and rejuvenated. But this felt different. Instead of running away from life, I felt like I’d be running towards it. So trusting my intuition, I followed it, and here I am—best decision ever!
Living in alignment with my heart and soul has brought an ease and flow to my life, guiding me to where I need to be. Once I’d found my little Healing Room in Yucca Valley, my intuition (and a Facebook post) guided me on to my next step of learning how to become a Sound & Vibrational Therapies Practitioner. In adding this modality to my existing Reiki practice, I’ve been excited and surprised by the results. These two modalities beautifully complement each other, and I have been having so much fun figuring out how to combine them for the best results.
Outside of my practice, I’m an avid reader and a lifelong student of Feng Shui and Numerology. I find inspiration and peace in exploring the natural beauty of the high desert, avoiding the masses, and taking the time to simply breathe and Be.
Supporting me through all of my adventures is Lana, my trusty, furry companion that makes me smile everyday and has brought so much love and laughter into my life.
Lana is a love bug and total dork that I rescued from the local animal shelter. She really enjoys laying under the healing table — on top of my crystals — while I do a Reiki healing session; she loves Reiki energy! She also enjoys the vibrations of the tuning forks and the Buffalo drum when I bang it over her, although she’s less enamored of the singing bowls.
With over a decade of experience, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others find balance and healing through energy work. My open, honest, and nurturing presence fosters trust and encourages openness, creating deeply transformative sessions. Through my work, I’ve touched the lives of many, helping them reconnect with themselves and the universe while inspiring them to awaken their own healing and life potential.
I believe in the body’s innate ability to heal and am passionate about empowering my clients to embrace their own healing journeys. Book your session today and embark on a journey of healing and wellness that your future self will thank you for!

Here is an interview that I did with the Los Angeles Patch, when I first opened DRHP back in 2017.
